Bringing Your Kitten Home
Your new kitten just left the only place they knew and can become frightened when first arriving at your home. It may take several days for your kitten to adjust to the new home.
If you are new to owning a kitten, below are some tips that might help.
Provide a Safe Place:

Prepare a somewhat quiet room with everything the kitten will need (food, water, litter box, bed, toys & scratching post) and ensure it is kitten proof.

Keep an eye on your kitten, they are curious and can quickly get into mischief

Keep other pets separate from the kitten

Play with your kitten
Kitten proofing your home:

hide cords, kittens like to chew on them
-
remove hazards (small items, strings, ribbons, toxic plants)

close off tight spaces where the kitten may go and get stuck
Items to buy:

shallow litter box, litter and scooper

food and water bowl
-
kitten food - start with what the breeder was supplying, if possible. If you cannot get a small amount of kitten food from the breeder and top off the new food with it for easier transition.
